Sunny (Hangul: 써니; RR: Sseoni; MR: SSŏni) is a 2011 South Korean film about a group of female high school friends who gradually drift apart and then seek each other out again. It is the second film by director - screenwriter Kang Hyeong-cheol and is one of the highest grossing Korean films of 2011.

Plot

Na-mi is a new girl at her school, and with a very shy personality she is mocked by bullies on her first day. However to her rescue are a group of girls who decide to take her in as a new member of a group called Sunny. As a group, they play together, dance together and enjoy their company with one another. There happens to be a fight scene between Sunny and a rival gang, in which Na-mi over-reacts causing the rival gang to retreat. However an accident tore the group apart.

Now Na-mi in her older age has a family of her own, a respectable husband and a beautiful daughter of her own. When looking at her daughter behave, she has memories of her younger self doing the same to her mother. Her husband goes on a business trip abroad and gives some money to Na-mi, which strives her to find the lost friends of Sunny (and one of her crushes) with the help of Choon Hwa, who is spending her remaining, short life in hospital. Na-mi eventually finds her friends and they enjoy each others company just like the past.

However in the end, Choon Hwa passes away and this leads Na-mi and her friends who are now women into great grief. Choon Hwa gives her belongings away to her friends of Sunny via her lawyer in the funeral room, and they dance due to Choon Hwa's wish.
